Christopher Volk

Chris Volk serves as Ascend’s Chief Instructor and brings more than 40 years of aviation experience to the team. Over the course of his career as a military, commercial, and flight instructor pilot, he has logged more than 6,000 hours in the air and has helped hundreds of students achieve their pilot certifications.

 

Chris holds FAA certifications as a Certified Flight Instructor, Instrument Instructor, and Multi-Engine Instructor, along with Airline Transport Pilot and Commercial-Instrument Helicopter ratings. He spent 20 years flying multiengine airplanes and helicopters in the U.S. Army, earning the Master Army Aviator designation and receiving the Department of Defense Legion of Merit.

 

Beyond aviation, Chris enjoys the outdoors and backcountry flying. He has owned and maintained several personal aircraft.  He is the author of a historical fiction novel, "Summoning the Darkness", written under the name Christopher Scott.
